House update

Well we finally have some progress on the house. It is now in one piece, and the roof is on it. Yay. The septic is hooked up to Lisa’s bathroom, the laundry room, and the kitchen, it hasn’t made it all the way to our master bath yet, since thats from one corner of the house to the other! The water line is also hooked up from the house out to the yard where it goes to the meter. But not hooked up in the yard. So that shouldn’t be much. Still no electricity. Today they were here putting the siding on the side of the house, and finishing the gable. Hopefully they will get it done soon so we can move in.

We are getting sick of the trailer. The hot water heater had issues today that I had to fix. YUCK. Then I figured out a way to fix the master toilet thats been broken since the week before Christmas. So now we have two working toilets again. Thank goodness!!! What a day.

Anyways I am posting some pictures of the house I took today. The first one is the house from the stop sign at the big church down the road from our house. Its literally 500 feet from Chapman Highway, so you can see our house from Chapman, but not to worry its alot more secluded that it seems. Then here is a picture from the road right before our house, and a zoomed in shot from the same spot. Then some of the outside at the house, and then finally a picture of Lisa leaving her new bedroom for the first time.

Construction and such…

Well I went to check on the house yesterday, which hasn’t had anything done since the second half got here the day before Thanksgiving. Well we have a sort of major problem. Apparently something in the plastic that covers the roof came loose in the trip up the hill so with the rain we have had recently some water leaked through the roof and into the attic. So I walked in to a dripping ceiling. I could see insulation. I went back today to take pictures. Well today it was a 2 foot square hole. The insulation was too much weight and it fell through. Wonderful…..

Anyways there is supposedly a guy coming tomorrow to fix the hole in the ceiling and figure out what needs to be done with the footers so they can set the house. Apparently the footers aren’t wide enough for the house. Just another thing with this house. I am so glad that once it is done, we will be happy. Because right now its a nightmare!

Construction

Well we have both halves of the house now. But thats it. They were supposed to come last week and do stuff but the never did. Not sure whats going to happen this week. So we are in a holding pattern.

We adopted a new kitten. His name is P.B. it stands for Purr Box, which he is currently doing while sitting on my arm (which makes typing difficult). Lisa likes the new kitty. Here is a video of her holding him. She loves to pick him up, because he’s only 3 pounds 3 ounces.
