Strange happenings…

Hobbit | 6/28/2006 Wed June 28, 2006 @ 9:22 pm

Ok so I had just put Lisa down for the night, and was eating a bit of desert (Chocolate Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Biscotti) when there was a knock at the door (well really the door bell, but anyways). It was our neighbor from behind’s kids. They came to ask if they could walk our dogs, just take them and walk them. Ok I was so taken aback by this it was just strange! I let both Keegan and Gracie go with almost strangers! They took them on a walk for a good 30 minutes. When they got back Gracie was even tired, with her tongue hanging out! It was just so surreal, Dan and I kept looking at each other, and were like ok so did that just happen?

I think their grandmother just wanted them to get outta the house and burn off some energy! But hey if my doggies get a chance to get walked a few nights a week I am totally down with that!!!

Baby food…

Hobbit | Wed June 28, 2006 @ 11:36 am

At Lisa’s 4 month well child care check up we got the go ahead to try and start solid foods. So Dan and I went out and got a high chair, and some baby cereal…. This past weekend was our first attempt…

Lisa is very much interested in food, she sits or lays and stares at food when either Dan or I eat, so she is ready for food that way, but as we found out from our attempts at cereal she still has that push things out with the tongue reflex. So she might have gotten one whole spoon full of cereal in the two mornings it was attempted. Oh well, we will try again this coming weekend!

As a side note, Lisa does really good sitting in her high chair, which is good! We got one of those that are like booster seats that strap to a chair you already own, but have a tray for them to eat off of. We figure long term it would be a better investment than an actual highchair.

Talking and Water day

Hobbit | 6/22/2006 Thu June 22, 2006 @ 10:07 am

Lisa has really gotten into talking, she loves to talk, especially when you talk back to her. Yesterday she was talking up a storm, she talked to me, she tried to talk to the doggies, and she talked to her daddy. So I got out the camera and recorded her talking to her daddy. Let me warn you if you go to this link on dial up, it will take you a LONG time, cause the video is a minute long (800 KB). Lisa talking – June 2006

Lisa turned 4 months old today! She is almost 12 pounds.

Baby school (daycare) has decided to make every Thursday water play day. So today was the first water play day, and I wanted to take pictures so I went and took pictures. Lisa is totally cute in her little swimmy suit! She loved the water. It was cold cause it just came outta the spicket but Lisa just kicked at the water, and played with the sprinkler thingy. She had so much fun she didn’t want to stop although she was about to pass out. I realized she was getting tired, cause she wasn’t holding her head up, so I picked her up and she was passed out in two seconds. Poor thing, but at least she liked the water!

Lisa

Hobbit | 6/14/2006 Wed June 14, 2006 @ 3:06 pm

Well just thought I would update ya all on how little Lisa is doing. She is doing GREAT! Growing up and just plain being CUTE!!! She has in the last few days started “baby talking” she tries so hard to make sounds like “ah” or “eh.” She just talks away. She loves it when you talk to her, especially when the phone talks to her. I put the phone on speaker phone and then put the phone on her tummy and she just smiles at it, grabs at it, and talks to who ever is on the phone.

Another new trick of hers is to grab things. She has gotten pretty good at this one. She grabs my necklace, I think she does it just to give herself more stability. Anyways she loves grabbing on to toys, and likes to hold on to anything she can. It seems to soothe her (not that she really needs soothing) to have something to hold on to. She will grab her clothes if nothing is obtainable near by.

She is getting close to being mobile. At least she has started using her legs and butt to move around on me or on the ground. In the mornings I go in to wake her up, and she is in the corner of her crib, not the middle where I put her. So she moves about some how. So it won’t be long and we will have to lock the house down!

Fun times!!!

TMI updates

Hobbit | 6/11/2006 Sun June 11, 2006 @ 7:55 pm

Well the Hobba-dairy has gotten the picture after a week and is drying up. No more getting hard, no more need for pumping. Only a matter of time before nothing will come out and then I can wear regular bras again, whoo hoo…

There are a couple of new pictures up.
