Mizzou

Hobbit | 1/27/2006 Fri January 27, 2006 @ 5:59 pm

Well Mizzou had a bad day yesterday! She ate a ribbon. Yup ate the whole thing. So she had to go to the emergency vet, and they used an endoscope to retrieve the ribbon from her stomach (along with a piece of tennis ball she ate too). To do the endoscopy they had to put her under general anesthesia. So she has her little legs shaved for the IV catheter they put in, you can see it in the picture!

Well the endoscope apparently upset her little trachea, because we had to go back to the emergency vet at 3 am because she sounded like she was breathing through water. Now she has antibiotics just in case it was something other than tracheitis, like food or water in her lungs which could lead to pneumonia. The antibiotics should keep that away! Poor kitty! But maybe she will learn not to eat foreign objects!

34 weeks

Hobbit | 1/26/2006 Thu January 26, 2006 @ 9:56 am

Today marks 34 weeks! Yay getting closer to time to meet our daughter. My Dr. appt. today went well, she is in the head down position, and her heart rate was 140, so she is doing great!

I am slightly disappointed in myself, as I hit a mark I said I would never hit on the scale, but at least I know its all baby, so soon after birth, it will go way back down!

Dan and I are ready for this little one to come out. Dan wants to be able to play with her, where as now all he can do is tickle my tummy and talk to her. Me on the other hand, wowsers, as much as I love feeling her move and such, I am ready for her to come out, this bowling ball is getting old and tiresome to carry around. I am ready to carry her in my arms, with the option of putting her down if need be, or better yet handing her to her father! But to no avail, we have another six weeks to go!

Yay for babies!

Preggo Pillow

Hobbit | 1/25/2006 Wed January 25, 2006 @ 9:37 am

Being quite pregnant now, sleep has become almost non-existent. On my recent trip to AR last weekend, I had a massage, where for the first time in a long time (many months) I was able to lay on my stomach for over an hour on a preggo pillow. It needed to be slightly deeper in order for me to have felt totally comfortable, but it wasn’t bad, then I had to turn to do the other side, and instead of laying on my back, I was put on my side. I almost fell asleep instantly in the preggo pillow. It provided the support on my back and snuggled me just so.

The massage lady let me borrow the pillow while I was in town, and I honestly had the best sleep I have had since being pregnant. I told Dan about it, and he found one online, wowsers they cost 300 bucks…. so that was a no go. But I figured with some high density foam I could make myself one. So I went to JoAnn’s yesterday and bought me some foam, and spent the day cutting it to the right shape and covering it. And I slept like a baby last night! woo hoo!!!! For one third the cost, I now have a preggo pillow, and am getting sleep!

Nursery Pictures

Hobbit | 1/18/2006 Wed January 18, 2006 @ 5:53 pm

Finally took some pictures of the nursery. Took me a while, because we had the inflatable bed in there for company, and once company left, the cat took over the bed. So I felt bad taking the bed down, but had to do it! So now there are pictures.

Dan created a whole seperate gallery for Lisa, so all of her pictures are there. If you click on the link at the top of the page that says Lisa, it will take you to an update page for Lisa, and then you can click from there to get to the gallery ( on the link there or on the picture that comes up).

Pictures

In case you go looking for my pictures, a slight accident happened with my gallery, and so they are slowly being added back into the gallery. Some are there, some are not. Also got a new look to both the blog and the gallery, they have the same theme, so if you think you didn’t make it to the gallery, you probably did.
